Halloween special - TOWIE 2014

I was asked to do the makeup for the Halloween special again this year for TOWIE
The theme was mythical creatures so wasn't necessarily your typical gorey bloody scary looks.

Below i will list the products used and tips on how to create the look for yourself this Halloween!

Ricky Rayment

For Ricky Rayment's look we went for a reptile man!!

The ripped skin effect was created with Latex and tissue!

I use Kryolan Liquid Latex!

This is applied in layers in the shape you want to create, allow to dry the tear from the inner edge to create a ripped skin effect!

Inside i used black face paint from Mehron. This is a water based product that sets dry.
Using a punchinelo effect stencil to create the scale effect! This was applied using a mehron neon green powder. I used a stipple effect with a small stipple blending brush from my contour set from Spectrum brushes visit www.spectrumcollections.com they have some amazing brush sets that are really versitile and can be used for beauty makeup and blending for theatrical makeup too. They wash really well so don't be afraid to use them for the heavy stuff like this.

I then used a mac foundation to blend out over the latex to make it skin coloured and then i added some Fresh Scratch from Ben Nye around the latex for the blood effect
I love fresh scratch as it has a really thick texture and looks really realistic. It also stays wet looking hours later.

Mario Falcone

These contact lenses were from Luvyababes fancy dress shop in Manchester
They give a great effect to any halloween look.

Marios bulging alien like forehead was created with was moulding wax. It is attached with spirit gum shaped and moulded onto the head to the required shape then covered in liquid latex.
Once set to dry i sprayed the face silver with airbrush face paint and blended black/grey and silver to add depth to the look.

This can be enhanced even further if you have time by adding detail like scales dots patterns stripes. I had limited time to do 8 casts members in 4 hours so was short on time to intensify this look further.
I would usually like to have at least 2-3 hours for this type of look alone

Lydia Bright

I love this look on Lydia we went for a bird inspired effect!

Contacts were also from luvyababes - Manchester

The liner underneath the eye was created with Illamasqua black gel waterproof liner. I used my eyeliner brush from mu line and define range from spectrum brushes (www.spectrumcollections.com)  then added Illamasqua sealing liquid and black glitter pressed on top

Tip
When using glitter have some scotch tape ready to get rid of any unwanted glitter fall out.

Lips were created with the same illamasqua black gel set with lipcoate and
illamasqua sealing liquid with an iridescent glitter pressed on top.

Feather lashes i ordered on ebay. These added to the bird effect and tied in with her feather head piece and theme.

Ferne McCann

To create the mask effect i used masking tape and sprayed silver i then used marbled gold leaf on the eye lids and around the eyes. Soft Ardell demi wispies were used.

Creeping vines were hand painted up the neck and facewith mehron face paint and an eyeliner brush from my line and define set from spectrum brushes (www.spectrumcollections.com)

I then randomly dotted coloured gems around the vines

Billie Faiers

This Ice queen look was created using-

Silver metalic powder as a base around the eyes.
A selections of crystal effect gems and jewels Blue candy from Mac
Blue lipstick with ice white glitter
Kryolan jewelled lashes

Georgia and Tommy

This lovely pair decided to go as matching mermaid and merman

I made this stencil by printing a scale effect onto paper laminating it then carving out the shape with a craft knife.

I used this on the arm neck and side of the face on both georgia and tommy

I did a glittery green eye with dramatic lashes on georgia with a red lip

BODYPOWER - Machine Fitness mechanical body painting

BODYPOWER

Sorry i haven't posted for a while. I have been asked how i created the mechanical artwork for the Body power event i attended in Birmingham this year.  The boys i painted are fitness models for Machine fitness clothing.

Heres how i did it

To get a tear effect to look like ripped skin you need LIQUID LATEX!! A good quality one is always best as the quality is much more skin like. I use the Mehron Liqud latex.
1. Paint this on in the shape you would like the rip to be.
2.  Leave this to dry completely
3. With a tool/Spatula or tweezers start to put the edges to create a tear effect!

The create the mechanical artwork well this part do take a little bit of artistic skill but if its for a fancy dress etc and want to create this kind of look you could always try a transfer to stick on the skin or a stencil.

1. I painted the whole area silver
2. i drew an outline of the required shape with a black eyeliner.
3. i used a small stencil for the fiddly details to create the teeth on the wheels
4. I painted the detail freehand with black body paint and then blending with a black dust also from Mehron
5. I highlighted the areas i wanted to shine like steel with a silver metallic pigment from Mehron with a fine brush

Finally cover the white latex with foundation and add a little red body paint and fake blood around the edge of the tear.

Helen Flanagan's contoured look

Everyone is asking the question?? Has Helen had surgery? What has she done different?

Well Helen Flanagan's look last night looked so sculpted due to contouring techniques!!
Helen is naturally a very beautiful girl and has amazing bone structure, however these tricks can be used on anyone.

These are the products i used

Mac studio sculpt foundation

Enchanted Fantasy makeup look

Thanks to CrownbrushUK i created a fantasy look i have called Enchanted!
They kindly sent me this lovely gift!

The smoke it out Palette and a selection of gorgeous brushes!

I created this look using a combination of products as listed below

Kryolan TV paint as my skin base
Stila Angel light powder to set the base
Crown Brush Smoke it out palette
Green and orange Neon pigments from Star gazer
Glitter from Eye Kandy cosmetics
Embelishment jewels from ebay
The centre piece of the look is an old broach

To create the detail i used Crown brush stiff brow brush. This helped to create the sharp edges!

The glitter was applied with this fab glitter applicator by Crown brush Uk.

I definitely recommend this as its a great applicator which allows you to pack on the glitter easily and also saves you from ruining your regular brushes by getting them clogged with adhesive and glitter particles.

I love crownbrush UK products as they are affordable but still at a professional standard!!
visit www.crownbrushuk.co.uk and view the selection of Makeup, brushes, and makeup accessories they have! They are amazing!

Natural fresh glow

This look is all about highlighting, soft contouring and warm natural colours!

Using your regular foundation you can warm the shade by adding a tan booster or liquid highlighter. This adds a dewyness to your foundation.

Products used

Mac Bronze pigment
Stila eyeshadow in bliss and sunset
Topshop bronzer in Sandcastle
Mac Mineralize Skin finish
Topshop Highlighter in Cresent
Mac Pro sculpting cream in Accentuate.
High Brow glow pencil from Benefit
Lipstick Hot voodoo from Nars

I used this inside the waterline of the eye. I don't like using white as it makes the eyeballs appear off white.

This bronze pigment i packed on the lid and sweeped it under the eye to give a bronzed shimmery glow to the look.
I contoured the socket with Bliss and sunset from Stila

I haven't used any eyeliner or False lashes with this look. I wanted to keep it really fresh and natural.
I used mac pro sculpting cream down the nose and on cheek bones followed by a dust all over of mac skin finish and highlight from top shop on the nose and cheekbones. I set the light areas like under the eye, chin and forehead with Stila Angel light pressed powder in Shade C.

I then finished with a shimmery bronze lipstick Hot Voodoo from Nars

Sam Faiers Disney birthday party - Minnie Mouse

Sam Faiers - Minnie Mouse TOWIE

On New years day i traveled to Essex to do the makeup for Sam Faier's birthday, as you can see from my previous posts.
I have only just been able to post about Sam's look due to OK magazine featuring her party in this months issue.

So here it is ! The makeup i used for Sam's Minnie Mouse makeup look!

When i am doing a heavy eye look i put a base all over the face, however i don't perfect the foundation until the end as the skin can get eyeshadow drop outs and my finger marks from doing the eye makeup.

I firstly started creating a dark brow with Carbon from mac with a damp angular brush to give cartoon dark brows.
Sam wanted to keep the look pretty and didn't want to be too much like a cartoon mouse so i kept to her natural brow shape.

Then i started on the eyes! i used Lemonaid eye primer from Benefit on the lid then packed on this gorgeous cherry bomb glitter from Eye Kandy cosmetics. A little glitter face adhesive was used to make sure it stayed all night.

The pads being used under the eyes are from Shadowshields. I love them especially with a look like this! Its save's you having to remove particles of glitter from the face later.

I then did a red fade out above the glitter with Louder by Mac

The lashes i used are Fever lashes! They give that big dolly cartoon like effect! Sam opted for just the top lashes!

I then did a winged liner, perfect finish skin and a pink blush.
Sam had her own lipstick which we used. Sorry guys - Cant remember the brand! However i love Russian Red by Mac which is very similar.

Products i used

Mac studio sculpt
Mac cover up concealer
Mac studio Tech
Stila Pink blusher
Cherry bomb glitter from Eye Kandy cosmetics
Red eyeshadow from Mac in Louder
Carbon eyeshadow from Mac
Topshop highlighting powder
Fever eyelashes
Shadowshields - (available at Salon services or www.shadowshields.co.uk)
