Coconut Oil review

I have been using pure coconut oil for the past 3 months. I have used it -

On my skin
In my green tea
As a cooking oil
As a hair treatment

I bought this from Holland and Barrett for £14.99

You can buy coconut oil online or in other food supply shops however it needs to be in its purest form

Look for pure or virgin on the label and check out the ingredients

I love this product as a hair treatment

Apply this all over the scalp and down the hair paying attention mostly to your ends!

Leave for at least an hour, if you can leave it over night

Wash out thoroughly and condition as normal

Pro's to using this product
Hair has a healthy sheen
Hair feels softer and nourished

Con's
It is difficult to wash out and can leave a residue

Tip!

I wash my hair twice gently massaging the scalp and only condition the ends with your regular conditioner. This will help rinse out the oil well so it doesn't leave hair looking greasy and flat.

Skin

I love using this on my skin especially my face

Use a pea sized amount and warm it in your hands. Pat gently all over your face and neck.
This can be used daily, however best results are at night when your skin renews cells.
I also use it as an eye makeup remover!

Its natural ingredients have anti bacterial properties so this is great if you suffer with spots. Unlike coconut oil most oils will cause more spots and blackheads.
It has antioxidents which are anti-ageing and also contains vitamin E which is great for the skin leaving skin smooth and dewy.

Contouring and Highlighting

So everyone wants to know how Kim Kardashian creates her beautiful contoured look

Heres how its done!!

Contouring literally has the power to really transform faces!

Contouring is the art of creating illusions on the face using makeup. Its not for everyone as it depends on your specific face shape and features. Just look at yourself in mirror and identify where your face needs it.

What is does!

Defines the cheekbones
Defines the jawline/Chin
Reduces the look of a double chin
Shortens a larghe forehead
Straightens, narrows or minimises a larger nose
Lifts sagging eyes
Opens smaller eyes

What you will need!

A contouring brush

Contouring - A colour that is 2 shades than your foundation - you can use matte bronzer, darker foundation or a contour powder. It can be liquid cream or powder form.

Highlight - A colour that is 1 - 2 shades lighter than your foundation. You can use a lighter foundation, concealer, highlighter or powder.

I love this contour palette by Smashbox

I also love Benefits highlighting products!!

My absolute favourite products to use for contouring are the Pro sculpting creams from MAC. They currently don't stock them but i have seen them on ebay.

Michael Jackson makeup transformation

  Before and After

This transformation requires heavy contouring techniques that appear better on black and white imagery.
I followed a photograph of Michael to create his bone structure, sharp brow shape and eye shape.
The look is very heavy and wouldn't look great close up in person as the definition is really harsh but gives a good likeness on photos

For this look i used dark and light Kryolan TV paint and chocolate brown eye shadow from mac to add depth to the shading
This was done a while back and many people have asked me to do a tutorial. I hope to do this really soon!!!

Mac pro store

I went to the Mac pro store in London this weekend to replenish a few items for my kit

If you have a makeup qualification get yourself a mac pro card and make a saving of 20%

One of my buys is this Pro lip palette! I use nude and brown shades regularly so i loved this palette!
The darker shades are also great this season
Modern browns
I also love the reflects glitter i bought in Antique gold! I have quite a few of these mac glitters and they are gorgeous to use for nights out and perfect for christmas parties.
They are best used on the lid or the inner corner on top of an eye look to add a bit of sparkle!

I will be posting pics of the looks i use this on over christmas

Bedazzled!

This look is great for fancy dress or even Halloween

Products used

Mac carbon - For the black blended fade on the face
The jewels were from ebay however you can buy these from most craft shops
Duo glue
Red cherry thick dramatic lashes
Illamasqua black lipstick in Pristine

Stick the jewels on the face using a rubber based glue. I used Duo glue

Be sure to do a patch test if you haven't used this type of glue before

Jodie Marsh Avatar transformation

I had the pleasure of doing makeup for the lovely Jodie Marsh earlier this year. This was for Kieth Lemons birthday bash!! As you can see she went as an Avatar!Products i used!

Products i used

Snazaroo face paint in - Pale blue, sky blue and white
Mac paint pot in Shade - Pure creation
Mac eyeshadows in Blue candy and Atlantic blue
Mac shade and smoke duo liner in shade - Beth or glory (I used the electric blue end)                                                 Mac pigment in - Pink opal as a highlighter

The eyeshadows/powder is used to give detail and intensity over the top of the the face paint. It gives a more 3D effect and creates the appearance of an Avatar style wide nose - I have been asked a lot if the nose was achieved with wax or using a fake nose. This is done with contouring only!

Hey my lovely makeup junkies!

Hi eveyone,

I have had tons of requests to do a blog so i am finally doing it!

Hope you enjoy!
